It's the most wonderful time of the semester! Twice a year, after directors submit their pitches and club members vote on which projects will receive club support, the casting process for each film will open up.

Auditions will be held in-person from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28 in the University Center's Spruce C suite, and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 1 in Skinner Library's Study Room 2. Virtual auditions will be accepted until midnight October 1 at uncofilmclub@gmail.com.

Actors from all walks of life are given the opportunity to audition both in-person and virtually. After preparing a one-minute monologue from any source and of any tone, videos of each audition are sent to directors to find the best fit for their projects.

Similar to the studio system from the 1950s, talented performers form a pool for directors to contact about acting in their films. This ensures that experienced actors with high demand aren't overbooked, while up-and-coming talent can find their footing in Northern Colorado's ever-expanding film scene.

Performers who came to the Film Production Club early in their careers have gone on to do great things after graduation. Chloé Colleen (The Professionals) and Jasmine Day (Safe House 1618) have successful FPC projects early in their filmographies.

Whether it's to build up a fabulous reel or to form lifelong friendships, performers who come to FPC can do great things as they develop their talents.
